Lineage
THE BAUT STUDIOS was founded in 1927 by Stanley H. Baut (1894-1969) in the Wyoming Valley
Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania with a two (2), and sometimes four (4), man staff.
Stanley and his workers produced beautiful work and gained a "solid" reputation.
Stanley was sole proprietor until 1945 and active in the business until 1965. His career
began around 1916, apprenticing for various major Studios. Stanley's father, Jacob Baut,
was familiar with the craft as well, working for a major Studio in Innsbruck, Austria,
prior to his journey to North America.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma.
Eugene R. Baut (1927-1988), son of Stanley, began his career at his father's side from the
tender age of six. Throughout his youth and prior to his service in World War II, Eugene
was becoming an accomplished craftsman. "Gene" became a partner with his father
in 1945. From that time on, the business increased in physical size, staff, and product
depth. Gene, an inquisitive thinker, earned a number of patents during his career, including
a "STRUCTURAL STAINED GLASS WINDOW SYSTEM." He was active in the business until
1986.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma, Bucknell Junior College, Honorary Degree - Westmoreland
Institute of Applied Sciences.
Harriett H. Baut (1927- ), widow of Gene, was at at her husband's side throughout his
career. She helped in the office doing clerical and book keeping work as needed. When Gene
became the outside salesman, she often accompanied him on his sales trips. She is
knowledgeable in the many aspects of our business as she was there as Gene tried new things.
She continues to provide guidance and leadership. She is the sole owner of the business.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma, Master Seamstress, Bookkeeper.
Gerhard F. Baut (1953- ), son of Eugene and Harriett, began "shop work" around the
age of seven years. He has crafted in all mediums of Baut Products, including "Painting
of Traditional Stained Glass." His knowledge of the "Science of Glass" and
"Staining" is most essential in giving him the ability to DUPLICATE (in part or
fully) "Priceless" Stained Glass Windows. Gerhard takes an active role in all
STAINED GLASS RESTORATION and DUPLICATION efforts, from initial paint formulation to fired
paint samples to finished product. He has been employed full time since 1975.

Italy, A.M. di Venezia.
Karen Louise Baut Klemm (1955- ), daughter of Eugene and Harriett, became involved in the
"Office" end of the business after attending college. She oversees the office
and the Human Resources Department. She has been employed full time since 1975.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma, Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Heide Marie Baut Cebrick (1957- ), daughter of Eugene and Harriett, became involved in the
"Artistry" end of the business at the age of 12. By her senior year of High
School, she was a skilled "Color Selector and Glass Cutter." Heide oversees and
coordinates the many activities of The Baut Studios Design Department. Both hand drawing
methods and computer graphics are employed. She has been employed full time since 1979.

Italy, Computer Network Training, AutoCAD, CADD / CAM - Cybernation, MasterCAM Training.
Conrad D. Baut (1960- ), also son of Eugene and Harriett, likewise began at a very young
age helping out in the Studio. Conrad also apprenticed at the Studio, working in all aspects
of the craft, from initial manufacture to installation of the finished products. Conrad
oversees all aspects of the "Baut Operation" and also is responsible for all
Estimates and Specifications. He has been employed full time since 1982.

College, Wilkes-Barre, PA, Supply Member of Construction Specifications Institute.
